2. Give the exact head count. Not “a few of us”. Four, five, six. The salon divides the day by that number, and one extra person who turns up unannounced pushes back everyone booked behind her.

4. Appoint one coordinator. The salon should not be fielding six messages from six different numbers, each with partial and contradictory details. One person collects the list, sends it once, and reports the answer back to the group.

The fifth piece of advice changes the day more than any other: do not all arrive at the same time. If there are four of you, stagger it. First at 12:00, second at 13:30, third at 15:00. Settle the split before you walk in, not after you walk out. Nothing is more awkward than four women counting notes at the door. Salons work in cash, so either each person brings her own amount or one person collects it all and pays in one go. Decide that in the group chat the day before.

Booking for five people one day in advance. It does not happen, and the answer will be no, however politely it is given.

The whole group arriving at the same hour and then complaining about the wait. Without a staggered schedule, waiting is arithmetic, not bad service.

The head count growing at the last minute. Two extra friends joining on the day of the dinner are two extra hours of work that nobody planned for.
